I get used to characters in the Bible who have a dying child. It sounds like “here we go again.” The parent will beg to Jesus and the child will be healed. End of story.
But there’s something in today’s message that made me think about the moment when a wealthy man asked Jesus for the healing of his dying child.
He might be rich and powerful, but he was helpless in that situation. There is nothing he can do.
In some occasions in our life, we will encounter the question:
“What are you desperate about?”
We might have the strength, aptitude, or resources, but these are not enough to overcome a bigger battle.
Indeed, we need a Savior. Miracles are still relevant in our age. AND I AM DESPERATE.
